Free and paid
Logging food, workouts, weight, water and sleep is free and stays free. A membership unlocks the extra features listed on the Membership screen — training plans, the exercise library, recipes, the pantry, barcode and label scanning, meal photos, smart targets, the health timeline, plan reviews, briefings and widgets.
Taking everything out of your account is free for everyone and is not part of a membership. It is under Legal & Privacy, Access & Export My Data.
Who charges you
In this app, a membership is bought through the App Store. That is the only way to buy one here.
A membership can also have been set up outside this app, and then it is billed differently. Which one you have decides who takes the money and who can stop it, so the Membership screen and the Membership card in Settings always say which yours is.
- Bought in this app — Apple charges you, through the App Store, to your Apple Account. Apple holds your payment details; they are never seen by this app.
- Set up outside this app — PAssistant Technologies Pty Ltd charges you through its payment processor, Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own secure page; they never reach this app or our servers. Signing in here gives you that membership at no extra charge, with nothing to buy again.
Price and billing
The price, the currency and the billing period are shown before you pay, and are taken from the live price at the time you look. Nothing is charged until you confirm.
A membership renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel it. Payment is taken within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
For a membership bought in the app, the price shown is Apple's price in your own currency and the charge appears on your Apple Account. Apple emails you a receipt. For a membership set up outside the app, Stripe emails you a receipt for each payment.
Free trials
There is no free trial. A membership is charged from the moment you buy it, on either shop, and you keep the whole of the period you have paid for.
If we ever offer one, we will tell you how long it lasts, what it becomes when it ends, when the first payment would be taken and how to stop it before then — before you agree to it, and on the Membership screen for as long as it is running.
Cancelling a membership bought in the app
Apple manages it, and only you can stop it. Open the Membership card in Settings and use Manage in the App Store, or go to Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep everything you have paid for until the end of the period you are already in. Neither this app nor PAssistant Technologies Pty Ltd can cancel an App Store subscription on your behalf — Apple does not provide any way for us to do that.
This matters if you delete your account: deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Turn it off in the App Store as well, or Apple will keep charging you for an account that no longer exists. The app warns you about this before you delete.
Cancelling a membership set up outside the app
Cancel it from the Membership card in Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep everything you have paid for until the end of the period you are already in.
Deleting your account cancels a membership of this kind immediately, as part of the deletion.
Cancelling does not delete anything
Everything you logged stays stored and is unlocked again if you rejoin. A membership that ends locks the paid features; it does not remove your food, workouts, weights or documents.
Refunds
A membership bought in the app is refunded by Apple, not by us. Apple's own refund process is at reportaproblem.apple.com, and the decision is Apple's. We cannot issue, promise or refuse a refund for an App Store purchase.
For a membership set up outside the app, we do not offer refunds for part of a billing period you have already started, except where a refund is required by law.
Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the service is faulty or is not as described, you may be entitled to a refund, a repair or a replacement — write to info@passistant.com.au.
Price changes
If we change the price of a membership we will tell you before it applies to your renewal, so you can cancel first if you do not want to continue. For a membership bought in the app, Apple also asks you to agree to a price rise before it takes effect, and cancels the subscription if you do not.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment does not go through, the app will tell you and the membership features are locked once the retry period is over. Nothing you have logged is deleted. Apple retries a failed App Store renewal for a period of its own choosing; a membership set up outside the app is retried by Stripe.
Restoring a purchase
A membership bought in the app belongs to the Apple Account that bought it. Signing in on a new device, or reinstalling, may need Restore Purchases on the Membership screen — it asks Apple what that Apple Account is entitled to and puts it back. You are not charged again.
An App Store subscription can only be attached to one HealthPal AI account at a time. If you try to restore one that is already on another account, the app will tell you rather than quietly doing nothing.
Questions about billing
For a membership bought in the app, your payment details, your receipts and your refund requests are Apple's, and are reached through the App Store. For a membership set up outside the app, they are held by Stripe — write to info@passistant.com.au and we will help. Anything else goes to the same address.
